Self-published authors often get a raw deal—it’s difficult to place our books into chain bookstores, distributors are reluctant to carry our titles, and people in the publishing business tend to turn up their noses around our work. So it’s good to learn of a contest that helps promote those of us who have had the gumption to cut out the publisher and go it on our own. Check out Writer’s Digest Self-Published Books Awards. Multiple genres are accepted and all entrants will be listed on Writer’s Digest website—the little bit of exposure can help defray the entry cost.
